In the data centre world, the gold standard for mission-critical systems is 99.999% uptime – or approximately five minutes of downtime per year – usually referred to as ‘five-nines’ availability.

Not only by name but by nature, 99.999% is the minimum standard we hold ourselves to on every project we undertake: through our capabilities, compliance, and collaborative approach, we strive to deliver the last 0.001%.

Gerry Curran

Chief Executive Officer

Gerry is an accomplished Chief Executive Officer with a proven track record of leading complex organisations and delivering sustainable growth. He began his career in site engineering and progressed through senior project and programme management roles, ultimately advancing into executive leadership, including serving as a Board Director at Skanska UK.

With a career spanning Europe and North America, Gerry has successfully overseen large-scale programmes, driven operational excellence, and enhanced stakeholder value. He is recognised for his strategic vision, disciplined leadership, ability to deliver on client requirements, and unwavering commitment to long-term business success.

I am proud of our ‘can do’ attitude, which means that we aspire to deliver all our projects safely, on time, on budget and to a high quality.

Ramnik Kapur

Ramnik is Chief Financial Officer and has been with the Group since 2017, bringing over 25 years of experience in strategic finance, accounting, and business management across the private and public sectors.

An expert in corporate governance and international expansion, Ramnik incorporated the Global Datacentre entity in 2018. She subsequently led the financial and corporate aspects of the management buyout alongside Gerry Curran and a group of highly respected, independent industry leaders, taking the Global Datacentre business forward under independent ownership.

Ramnik has extensive expertise in financial planning, reporting, corporate finance, and change management, with a particular focus on the infrastructure development industry. Ramnik is an ACCA-qualified accountant with a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Computer Science and has held senior roles in a variety of companies, including an AIM-listed German real estate company with properties valued at over €1.8 billion.

Ian Hudson

Ian brings over 20 years of diverse global leadership, operational and functional experience with on-site working experiences in North America, EMEA, and Europe. Ian has worked in the offshore energy sector, private equity as a CEO and more recently in Mining and Metals. He brings deep expertise in sustainability and environmental strategy and has previously held roles in operational excellence, QHSE, marketing and strategy which positions him uniquely to support all aspects of the FiveNines business.

A prominent leader in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices serving on several key global initiatives, Ian combines executive management experience with a strong understanding of energy productivity, alternative energy solutions, and carbon management. His proficiency in leveraging emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), further strengthens his ability to guide organisations toward sustainable and future-ready strategies.

Committed to advancing sustainability through innovative solutions, operational excellence, and strategic insight, Ian is a highly valuable advisor and board member of FiveNines.

FiveNines has a strong reputation for both operational excellence and innovation that culminated in the business being an early pioneer in sustainability in the large infrastructure sector with a passion to drive sustainability forward.

Michael Tobin, CBE

Michael is a technology entrepreneur and pioneer with over 40 years of experience in the telecoms and technology sectors. As former CEO of Telecity, he grew the company from a £6m market cap to £2.6bn, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic vision.

Michael has overseen numerous successful exit strategies for a multitude of organisations and has been widely recognised within the industry. He was recently named the ‘Datacentre and Cloud Influencer of the Decade’ at the Broadgroup Industry Awards in Monaco and listed among Smith & Williamson’s ‘Top 25 Power Individuals of Industry’. Alongside being named ‘UK IT Services Entrepreneur of the Year’ by Ernst & Young three times and receiving a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Data Centre Europe Awards.

In 2014, Michael was honoured in the Queen’s New Year Honours List with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the digital economy and in 2025 was further honoured in the Kings Birthday Honours List with the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for services to charity.

Michael brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to FiveNines and is a valued member of the board.
